Introducing the Gantry Challenge: Walker’s Cay's Year-Long Online Tournament! Compete anytime, all year long, in the Gantry Challenge. From November 1, 2024, to November 1, 2025, you can fish for wahoo, tuna, or mahi within 50 miles of Walker's Cay and bring your catch to the scales at Walker’s Cay to be weighed. Payouts for biggest fish in each category! Whether you're visiting Walker's Cay for a weekend getaway or you're already competing in one of our other tournaments, you can easily join the Gantry Challenge at any time. Leaderboard results will be updated and viewable through the Walker's Cay app.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
The "Online Event" at Walker's Cay offers a flexible, year-round fishing competition where participants can fish the island's waters anytime from November 1, 2024, to November 1, 2025. Simply bring your catch to the Walker's Cay Gantry for weighing, then post your biggest fish on the digital leaderboard. Open to everyone, this virtual format lets anglers join the excitement from anywhere, on their schedule!

TOURNAMENT RULES
1. RULES ACCEPTANCE
Rules, including published rules in print or on the website www.walkerscay.com, are subject to change. It is the sole responsibility of the participating anglers, captains, crews, and guests (“Participants”) to know and abide by the Tournament Rules as published. By entering the Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge and paying entry fees, Participants agree to abide by the Tournament Rules and accept decisions made by the Rules Committee as final. The Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge has the right to refuse entry of an individual or team. The Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge has the right to disqualify without refund; an individual or team from the competition if the committee discovers any cheating, or misconduct towards other teams, weigh stations, or tournament rules.

2. NATURE OF TOURNAMENT
The Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge is a fishing team competition. Participants enter at their own risk, and understand the possibility exists that there may be no winners if no qualifying fish are caught. The Gantry Challenge is a yearlong competition, and teams may fish at any time within competition days and hours.
In the event no qualifying fish are caught in a given Tournament category, the Tournament category entry pot will be rolled over to the following year. Teams are required to re-enter the rolled over category in order to compete for that pot for that year.

3. IN GOOD FAITH
In any unforeseen man-made events, or Acts of God, major regulatory changes, fishery closures etc. that could affect the schedule or categories of the tournament. The tournament committee will act in good faith and take all efforts to make fair and equal decisions that could affect the tournament our participants and sponsors.

4. ANGLERS AND TEAM BOATS
There is no limit to the number of anglers on a team. Team members can change, however, if the owner of the (team boat) decides to use a different boat than registered during the season, then the Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge Tournament committee needs to be notified in writing and approved in order to roll the entry fees onto the (new team boat). One entry per team boat. The owner cannot use 2 team boats at once for 1 tourney entry. The owner can use 2 team boats for 2 tourney entries.

5. CANCELLATIONS
All entry fees must be paid in full prior to competing! You must be registered prior to leaving the dock on the day of your catch!
All entry fees are final. No Refunds for Cancelations.

6. WINNERS AND PRIZES
Official Winners will be announced on November 2nd, 2025, All Cash Prizes will be paid to winners by their choice either by check, or wire transfer only (USD). Prize money is equal to 100% of Mandatory Calcutta.
33% Heaviest Wahoo, 33% Heaviest Mahi
and 33% to the Heaviest Tuna.

7. PERMITS, LICENSES & JUDGING
Judging in the Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge is based solely on tournament rules.

8. RULES ACCEPTANCE
Participants fish at their own risk, teams are urged to make sound decisions utilizing marine forecasts to assist and taking in the seaworthiness of their own vessel solely deciding on their own when it is safe for their team to fish.

9. FISHING DAYS, TIMES, AND BOUNDARIES
Fishing starts 5:00 AM (EST) Nov 1st, 2024, Fishing ends November 1st, 2025 at 5PM EST. All participants must be inside the marina by 5PM EST on any day your team chooses to leave the dock and compete.
Fishing Boundaries
50 nautical miles from Walker’s Cay Marina. You may not fish outside of these boundaries! You may leave from Walker’s Cay Marina or Little Grand Cay only! **IF YOU PLAN TO WEIGH A FISH, YOU MUST DIRECTLY HEAD TO WALKERS CAY MARINA, NO STOPS ANYWHERE!**
10. EQUIPMENT & ANGLING RULES
The Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge tournament organizers expect the highest level of integrity and sportsmanship from their Participants and for them to compete in the “spirit” of the IGFA, although not strictly enforced without observers on each boat. Hook and hand is permitted with one pass as soon as possible, then IGFA rules apply.

11. WALKER'S CAY GANTRY CHALLENGE APPROVED TOURNAMENT WEIGHTS
Official weights from Gantry Challenge approved tournaments are accepted, and we will defer to that tournaments tackle and angling rules to qualify those fish. (The Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge tournament is an annual event that uses certified scales and and spectator witnesses.)

12. ELIGIBLE SPECIES, DISQUALIFICATIONS & POINTS
Fish caught not according to tournament rules are disqualified. Fish cannot be transferred onto another boat. Fish under minimum weight and do not qualify. *Mutilated fish, mutilation defined as anything that impairs the fighting ability of the fish, like shark bites and propeller trauma are not eligible to weigh. Small cookie cutter shark bites may be accepted upon approval of tournament committee. Fish’s internals may be inspected to ensure no hidden foreign objects were added for weight.

Walker’s Cay Minimums:​
WAHOO - 20 lb. minimum to qualify.
TUNA: Yellowfin (No Bluefin) -20 lb. minimum to qualify.
MAHI MAHI - 20 lb. minimum to qualify.
13. WEIGH PROCESS

To weigh a Fish at a the Walker’s Cay Gantry dock

With 2 witnesses, weigh, take a length and a girth measurement of your fish photo and SUBMIT HERE or text 772-214-8623 for assistance.

Weigh your fish on a certified weigh scale hanging from the Gantry! Teams should be prepared to weigh their fish on their own with the provided certified scale unassisted, as marina employees may be assisting other patrons).

Take a picture of your fish with official weight visible. Video is recommended as well!

Record time that fish was weighed

Be sure to upload 2 witnesses (name, email, and phone number) on the submission form.

Your weight info and pictures will be reviewed by the Walker’s Cay Tournament committee and if approved updated to the leader board daily.

Teams may keep their fish, but the Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge reserves the right to inspect all weighed fish!
14. WEIGHED FISH TIE-BREAKERS
In the event, there is a tied official weight in a category, the team who weighed their catch first by time and calendar day of year will be the winner.

15. POLYGRAPH EXAMINATION
Polygraph Examination – Walker’s Cay reserves the right to require winners to submit to and pass a Polygraph examination. Failure to comply or failure of the test results in disqualification of the entire team. Disqualified teams forfeit all entry money, prizes or prize money and, at the discretion of the Rules Committee could be refused entry to future Walker’s Cay events. In the event the winning team fails a Polygraph examination the second-place team will be considered the new winners and will have to submit to the same Polygraph rules.

16. RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS
This section must be carefully read by each Participant.
In consideration for being accepted for participation in the Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge (the “Tournament”), the Participants hereby release, forever discharge, and agree to hold harmless the Tournament, Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge ; Walker’s Cay, LLC ; any Walker’s Cay approved weigh docks ; and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, partners, members, and/or attorneys (collectively the “Releasees”) for any and all losses, claims, or demands of any kind or character whatsoever arising from the negligence or gross negligence of the Releasees or from any other cause connected with or occurring during the Tournament. The Participants expressly acknowledge that he/she has received, reviewed, and agrees to abide by the Tournament Rules and this Release. Furthermore, the Participants expressly acknowledge that activities relating to offshore fishing are extremely dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury or death. Having so acknowledged, the Participants hereby assume full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury or death due to the negligence or gross negligence of the Releasees or any other cause connected with or occurring during the Tournament.

17. DISPUTES
All disputes, protests, claims, differences or controversies relating to any aspect of the Tournament, including, without limitation, Tournament Rules, must be submitted to the Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge Committee no later than (24) hrs. following the close of scales on the last day of the disputes tourney month (5pm central) or are deemed waived. All such disputes must be presented in writing along with a non-refundable fee of $1000. All such disputes shall be decided by the Rules Committee and shall be final and binding upon all parties.

18. PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE
The Participants specifically agree and consent to the use of any photograph, video or audio recordings, or Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge and Walker’s Cay related Blogs, or interviews in which they appear or are heard, by the Tournament, Walker’s Cay Gantry Challenge; for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, resale, advertising, and promotional material without compensation or restriction of any kind.
